Bangor University, Bangor
We will be starting this year’s Freshers’ Fair with a Quiet Hour between 10:00 – 11:00. This is designed to make the event more accessible for students who may need a calmer environment, including those with learning difficulties, disabilities, or who simply need a little extra time and space to explore the fair.
During Quiet Hour, we ask stall holders to support by:
Keeping voices and noise levels low.
Avoid shouting, loud interactions, or calling out to students.
Not throwing balls, using loud props, or making extravagant demonstrations.
Respecting the request for no music during this time.
Being mindful of the lighting, which will be dimmed.
At the entrance, students will be offered coloured stickers, and information signs will be placed around the fair to remind everyone what the different stickers mean.
We will give everyone a 10-minute reminder (9:50) before Quiet Hour begins and make an announcement just before 10:00.
As with last year, there will also be a Quiet Space in the Squash Court for any students who feel overwhelmed during the event.
Your cooperation will help us make the fair welcoming and inclusive for all students.
