Did you know that since the 1800s populations of Native Oysters across Europe have declined by 95%?!
No?
Well then come along with Endeavour as we join the Wild Oysters Project at Conwy Marina!
The Wild Oysters Project is aiming to restore Britain’s seas to health through the restoration of the native oyster, and doing so right here on our doorstep.
This trip provides a perfect opportunity to learn more about restoration, conservation, and the methods and techniques that go in to reviving biodiversity, local heritage, and ocean health. As well as this the project encompasses habitat restoration, scientific research, and community engagement through citizen science, public outreach, education and inclusivity.
Take part in oyster cleaning, disease testing, checking for juvenile oyster settlement and general upkeep of oyster nurseries whilst networking with others and building other fundamental skills.
The world litterally is your oyster!
